I’m a huge fan of Japanese food, having tried some of the best slices of sashimi and sushi in places such as Tokyo, Kagoshima etc. In Singapore, I think Itacho is one of the most affordable places where you can get great authentic tasting Japanese food without having to burn a hole in your pocket. They may not fall under the really exclusive Japanese restaurant category, but it’s definitely the spot to go for some good decent sushi in that giant shopping mall.
